🦭 Cape Cross & Seal Colony Safari
Duration: Full Day | Departing from: Swakopmund | Estimated Time: 6–8 Hours
🚙 A Journey Through Time, Salt & Seals
Head north with Paparazzi Namib Trails & Safaris on an unforgettable adventure to Cape Cross, where history, nature, and Namibia's raw coastal beauty meet.
We begin our journey with a scenic drive along the Skeleton Coast, making iconic stops along the way:
🌊 The hauntingly beautiful Zeila Shipwreck, a ghostly reminder of the Atlantic's power
🌿 The surreal Lichen Fields, where ancient desert plants thrive against all odds
🧂 Sparkling Salt Pans, nature’s own crystallized artwork
🏘️ Small coastal settlements rich with stories from the sea
At Cape Cross, you’ll encounter one of the world’s largest colonies of Cape Fur Seals — more than 50,000 strong! The air is filled with the sounds (and yes, smells) of nature in its wildest form, a sensory experience like no other. You’ll walk the boardwalk just meters from these playful creatures, witnessing their antics up close.
We'll also reflect on history at the very site where Portuguese explorer Diego Cão planted a stone cross in 1486 during his search for a sea route to India — one of Namibia’s oldest European connections.
🍽️ A Lunch with a View
We’ll pause for a light lunch in a secluded desert location — think soft ocean breeze, desert silence, and wide open skies. It’s the kind of setting that makes you want to stay forever.
